The position we are brewing:

Manager, Franchise Sales (Americas) for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® is responsible for managing the execution of the Franchise Sales and Lead Generation process for Non-Traditional and Traditional cafés in support of The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf’s (CBTL’s) brand standards, and the Company’s mission, vision, and values as a People First and Genuine Care Culture. The position will report to the Senior Manager, Franchise Development (responsible for Traditional Franchise Sales, Non-Traditional Franchise Sales and Portfolio Management).

The Manager of Franchise Sales is responsible for all franchise sales and lead generation activities related to development agreements, renewals, and amendments to existing agreements, as needed. The role will serve as a key contributor and will be responsible for the creation and execution of the lead generation strategy, seek alignment on territories and bring the sales process to close. The role will also serve as a pivotal lead in the hand-off to operations, marketing, real estate and construction teams. In addition, this role will continue to be an ambassador to existing Franchisees and will connect from time-to-time, post sales, to ensure they are transitioning well and fulfilling their development schedules as agreed to.

What you will Measure and Blend:

  • Manage the overall sales process, set appropriate milestones for sales management, and meeting and exceeding quarter and annual targets.
  • Ensure the CRM system (FranConnect Sales Module) is accurate and updated in real-time.
  • Design, develop, and execute the lead generation plan, communications, and execution. This will include initial contact and vetting of all new incoming leads thru FranConnect, targeting potential franchisees in various sectors and other avenues of lead generation such as marketing, drip campaigns, emails, and more.
  • Nurture relationships with existing franchisees, communicate information on territories, and support their enterprise expansion plans with oversight from Market Planning, Real Estate and the Franchise Operations Team.
  • Oversee content development and maintain ownership of all Discovery Day plans and all franchise onboarding activities from first conversation to signing and hand-off.
  • Work with the marketing team, communications team, and outside agencies to implement effective lead generation marketing; track performance and adjust plans as needed.
  • Work closely with the operations and real estate teams to ensure that development schedules are communicated and fulfilled, and operating stores are successfully open.
  • Work closely with the Legal Team, ensuring compliance of all franchise agreements as well as protect company’s contractual rights.
  • Manage and ensure QC of all Local, State and Federal requirements regarding franchise documentation, processes, franchise sales regulations and disclosure information.
  • Lead and maintain partnerships with appropriate departments, industry groups, and vendors.
  • Generate reports, forecasts, track and analyze:
  • Sales budgets for franchise growth opportunities.
  • Pipeline tracking and communication to cross functional and executive teams.

- Monthly/Weekly Lead Tracking together with Snr Manager of Franchise Development (e.g. how many leads per month, status of leads, lead source -to name a few).

  • Area Development Agreement (ADA) tracking and communication.
  • Ensure Franchisee feedback is gathered and analyzed at the close of the Franchise Sales process.

Your Ingredients:

  • Bachelor’s degree or college equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years’ business management experience with a Franchisor in the restaurant or retail operations
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years development experience with multi-unit operations
  • Seasoned skills and knowledge of all aspects of the franchise sales business and lead generation activities
  • Proven success in leadership, communication, influencing and negotiating
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Operates with a high degree of integrity and ethical standards
  • Ability to collaborate in a People First and Genuine Care company culture
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen in a corporate environment
  • Highly self-sufficient with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Outstanding relationship management, ability to work with all levels of franchise and corporate organizations from team members to ownership; a successful collaborator
  • Effective planning, organization, and follow up skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Power point, Excel, Sharepoint, and Franchising CRM
  • Extensive travel is required, including frequent overnights
